Dominican Republic

The photographs are of the town of Los Claveles, Altamira in the Cibao Region of the Dominican Republic where I visited a friend in the United States Peace Corps.  She lived with the Lendof/Rodriguez Family and was an Agroforestry Volunteer.  El Cibao or “place where rocks abound” is known for its great soil.  Los Claveles is an agricultural community of mostly cacao and coffee but sells citrus, mangos, and bananas in the summer months.
